I have been performing as a professional vocalist and musician, since the late 70?s. I started my career in professional theater in 1985. in 1992 I began my career as a professional composer. I have performed, on stage, in ?Jesus Christ Superstar? as Judas Iscariot; ?Godspell? as John the Baptist; ?The Passion? as King Herod; ?Jeffrey? as Sterling; ?La Cage aux folles? as Albin; ?Oliver? as Bill Sikes; ?Fiddler on the Roof? as Tevye; ?Little Shop of Horrors? as Mr. Mushnick; ?The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds? as Mr. Goodman; ?Hello Dolly? as Cornelius Hackl; ?The Crucible? as Rev. Samuel Parris; ?No Exit? as Albert; ?Oklahoma? as Jud Fry; ?1776? as Dr. Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania; ?Torch Song Trilogy? as Arnold Beckoff; and ?Dracula-The Musical? as Val Helsing. I performed as lead vocalist for the gospel band ?SonRise? from 1979 to 1984, the Lead vocalist for the rock band ?Medusa? from 1984 to 1986, and lead vocalist and Latin Percussionist in the Santana cover project ?Crying Beast? from 1994 to 1997. From 1984 to 1994, I spent time performing as a trio with my brother J.B. Austin and Tracy Glass. My theatrical career was woven throughout my musical career. In 2002, J.B. Austin and I had the debut of oui first CD ?Children of the Glades?, recorded live in the Florida Everglades and produced by the well known Indi label ?New Pants. In 2005, I had the debut of my second CD ?Jupiter?s Moons are Rising? produced by my own Indi label ?MSAG?. In 2007, J.B. Austin and I had the debut of our the third CD ?A Very Blues Christmas?, also on the ?MSAG? label. In 2008, we had the debut of our fourth CD ?Tribute?, celebrating the works of Sir Elton John and Mr. Joe Cocker, on the ?MSAG? label. I am the CDO/President of MoonShadow Artists Group, a grassroots artist collaborative. I am currently serving as a Chaplain for the GLBTIQ community of the Pike?s Peak Region of Colorado.
